Irish Coffee

illy Irish Coffee is a delightful blend of rich illy espresso and smooth Irish whiskey, sweetened with sugar and topped with a luxurious float of heavy cream, finished with a dusting of cocoa powder and garnished with coffee beans for a perfect after-dinner treat.

Ingredients:

  • 45ml Irish whiskey
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1 double shot of illy espresso
  • Cocoa powder (for dusting)
  • 2 coffee beans (for garnish)
  • 36% heavy cream (for floating)

Preparation:

  1. Measure 45ml of Irish whiskey into a small steaming pitcher and add 2 teaspoons of granulated sugar.
  2. Warm the mixture using the steam wand of your espresso machine or on low heat in a saucepan until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Brew a double shot of illy espresso and pour it into an illy marocchino glass.
  4. Add the warm whiskey mixture to the espresso and gently stir to combine.
  5. Dust the top with cocoa powder and garnish with 2 coffee beans.
  6. Slowly pour the heavy cream over the back of a spoon onto the surface of the coffee, allowing it to float.
  7. Serve and enjoy!
