Moka pot (Stovetop Percolator)
- Fill the base of the pot with cold water up to the safety valve.
- Place the filter into the base and fill it with illy moka ground coffee. Do not compact the coffee.
- Screw the top section onto the bottom ensuring a tight seal.
- Place the pot onto a stove on low heat. The coffee will begin to fill the upper portion of the pot. When the flow begins to splutter and a gurgling sound commences, remove from the stove and serve.
- Wash the pot in water and mild detergent and dry after each use.
Plunger (French Press)
- Begin with the plunger unit out of the pot.
- Place one heaped tablespoon (7-8g) for every 200ml water.
- Pour hot (not boiling) water into the pot.
- Immeadiately place the plunger unit in the pot above the water level and press the coffee using a slow, downward motion. Lowering slowly with minimal pressure produces best results and prevents hot water shooting out from the spout.
- Wash the pot with water and mild detergent and dry after each use.
